Digital threads.
Digital threads is a project I developed in collaboration with textile artist Mariana Piñar during the iAtelier residency, organized by Crafting Europe, EOI-Fundesarte, in collaboration with ExArchitects and Fab de Fab.
The iAtelier program aimed to integrate innovative digital technology into the practice of craft making.
Together with Mariana Piñar, we wanted to explore the possibilities of the weaving loom, not only as a tool but as a structural element of an object.
In the chairs, all of the wooden parts are CNC cut, integrating kerfing for bending surfaces. The weave is essential to the structure since it holds everything together.
